Fall Fashion that will stand out in a crowd.
The secret world of kids fashion on Instagram.
There are so many worlds within worlds inside social media. Almost since their inception, I’ve always had personal Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest accounts. But after I had my daughter, I discovered the world of “brand repping” on Instagram and it forever changed my social media experience, including getting encouragement to start this here blog. If you don’t know, brand repping is a community of (mostly) women who either make and sell handmade items through etsy or their own site (typically clothing) and moms who love to photograph their kid wearing or playing with these amazing items. It’s all about kids fashion and making your kid stand out in the crowd.
I first found out about it after purchasing a few things from a now absolute favorite shop – The Art of Motherhood. She had posted a “brand rep search” on her Instagram feed and I was instantly intrigued. Most shops offer free or highly discounted items for high quality photos, which is awesome. After that first experience with brand repping, I was hooked. Photography became a new hobby and then passion. The world of brand repping is also a great community of moms who share a love for their kids and documenting their kids really well. I have so many photos of my daughter now (way more than I need actually – insert eye roll here) but I probably have a photo from nearly every day of her life now.
Why kid fashion?
Because of that experience, I really love doing fashion photography for kids now. It has become a way for me to express my interactions with my daughter through imagery and capture her childhood for the future. And it has also become a significant creative outlet for me. I found my art. I’m definitely going to go more into this in another blog post, because finding your artistic outlet is so important, for so many reasons.
And because art is better when shared, and because what girl mom doesn’t love dressing her daughter up to look extra fabulous (even on the days when I look like I’m still wearing my pajamas when I leave the house), I give you a new segment on this here blog: What My Kid Wore.
