The July Degustabox was all about BBQ! And if you’ve read any kinda deep into our blog, you know that BBQ is our jam. I think this box had each of our hearts in a different way.
Me (Sarah): My absolute favorite candy in the whole world is Goetze Caramel Creams. I had NO IDEA they came in other flavors. I feel like a candy addict failure. This box contained the Chocolate Creams, and be sure that I will be tracking down all the other flavors as well (black licorice!! caramel apple!!).
Dave: BBQ sauce. Need I elaborate?
Jack: The fact that Extra Cheesy Cheez Doodles exist outside his favorite book series totally blew his mind.
Calvin: The Loacker cocoa and milk cream wafers were gone before I even got a taste. He lurved them. Big time.
Penny: She tried a little bite of all the things and decided that candy continues to be her go to. She did, however, really enjoy the matcha smoothie I made!
But overall, we loved this box. Degustabox-es are so well curated and full of delights. I love that each time I’m introduced to a product I’ve never met before and become quickly addicted. I think the only thing in this box that wasn’t a hit was the turkey jerky. I will say, I do love a good turkey burkey or beef alternative, but this one was a little bit meh. Everything else was truly worth it though and at least half the items are going on the grocery list.
This month’s box contained:
- Lee Kum Kee plum sauce – We make egg rolls on the regular on this made an excellent dipping sauce.
- Loacker Cocoa & Milk Wafers – a hit with all the kids. And the mom. Definitely a grocery cart add for summer picnics.
- Aiya Matcha – So so so so so good. Have you ever had a green tea frappucino at Starbucks? These are better.
- Uncle Dougie’s BBQ Sauce – we ate it on pulled pork sandwiches and it was DELISH! We’re very picky about our BBQ and this slightly sweet slightly smoky sauce is totally getting added to our usual sauce rotation.
- Sir Kensington’s Chipotle Mayo – makes burgers even better. I swear. And turkey sandwiches. And pulled chicken sandwiches. And I bet a bunch of other stuff too. So good. Plus, the ingredients are choice.
- Wise Snacks Extra Cheesy Cheez Doodles – extra crunchy and extra cheesy. Plus apparently they make an appearance in the Diary of the Wimpy Kid stories. So there’s that.
- Chomps Original Turkey Sticks – We felt pretty neutral about these. I appreciate that they’re paleo and whole30 friendly (because in all reality, that’s how I should be eating) but the taste was just not there.
- Goetze’s Chocolate Caramel Creams – THE BEST. That is all.
